Frequently asked questions
Does USCIS accept CredPronto translations?
Yes. Every order includes the full translation and a signed translator certification, which is what USCIS requires. USCIS doesn't license or approve translators, so a translation is accepted based on that certification. Read our USCIS translation guide.
Do I need a notarized translation?
Not for USCIS. Some courts, DMVs and foreign agencies ask for one, and you can add notarization at checkout for $17.95. Certified vs. notarized, explained.
Can I translate my own documents for USCIS?
The rule doesn't forbid it, but most immigration attorneys advise against translating your own or a family member's documents, because an officer may question whether the translation is neutral.
What counts as a page?
Each 250 words of Latin text counts as one billable page, and each 1,000 Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters counts as one. A page with text counts as at least one. Blank pages, shipping labels, and pages that are already English are not billed when the translation is into English. You'll see the page count and the exact total before anything is processed.
How fast will I get it?
Most previews are ready in 3 minutes. Once you pay, the certified PDF unlocks right away. Hard-to-read scans and unusual languages go to a person for review, and we'll tell you the timing before you pay.
Are my documents private?
Yes. Files are encrypted and visible only through your private order link, and we'll delete them when you ask.
Who's behind CredPronto?
CredPronto is operated by a team with over a decade in certified translation and credential evaluation.
